First of two Florida disaster preparedness tax

The first of two 14-day sales tax holidays to help residents save money on hurricane supplies ends today, June 9.

Florida House Bill 7063, which describes several sales tax holidays for Florida, was passed unanimously by the Legislature May 5 and sent to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis May 23, which he signed.

The tax holidays also include a number of items related to the safe evacuation of household pets. Exempted items include:

Common household consumable items selling for $30 or less will also be exempt from sales taxes.
